Linux Version of NetZero having problems dialing up

I recently downladed the Linux version of NetZero and (finally) found the right linux driver for my modem, except now when I try dialing up it will say in the Netzero window that its dialing and will take a long time until a seperate error message flashes, like cannot connect to server,etc., but tries another number and starts dialing as soon as the message flashes preventing me from finding out at least the problem is. If anyone uses it and/or knows what's wrong, please give me advice.

The Linux version of NetZero requires the Java Runtime Environment to be installed prior to use of the NetZero dialer. (For example: Under its default installation, Ubuntu Linux is incapable of running the NetZero dialer.)
