You'd have to be SLIGHTLY more specific.

Which distro are you running? How did you install the packages? What errors do you get?
Answering those questions would be a good start. Without it, it's hard to say anything.

I installed it from software center of ubuntu 11.04. I tried them but they can not play dvds. eider having problem with codecs or just do not se, find, recognize location.
I tried also xbmc, geexbox, beside they terrible slow, they have this problems. I do not understand it.
even when I try to reach you tube from net they can not find it. it is strange.
I have also problem with skype to. the mic. part ok, but the webcam is not. it appears it;s code in options but no more. probably is it driver matter.

To play DVDs with ubuntu, you need to install dvdcss. Open a terminal then enter these commands-

sudo apt-get install libdvdread4
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

You might need to reboot.

As far as youtube goes, do you get the page but no audio/video, or does the page just fail?

I'm no help at all with webcams, I dont use them.

As I've already advised you, please put separate questions in separate threads.

hi
thanx for the advice. the thing is that youtube works separately, just entering in the browser's/firefox/ search field youtube.com.
from media center be that songbird, xbmc, geexbox, vlc , gnome player, etc. nothing was working, neither dvds nor youtube or something else.
for youtube I've got url probles related message. I think www.youtube.com should be good enough.

Make a new thread for you Skype problem. Don't post several unrelated questions in a single thread.

hi
I forgot to ask which ubuntu media center would be the most advisable? what I expect is to play possibly all dvds, youtube and similar things, tv on internet.
for example I like alien engineering on youtube. if I download all 9 episode I want to see loaded automatically, with other words to put the in one unit.
get option to organize, my downloads, etc..

Please, as said several times, if you have multiple unrelated problems, open a new thread for every single problem. Making a new post to the same thread is not making a new thread.
