Talking Linux FAT32 errorscan utility?

I have Linux and WinXP installed as dualboot OS, and after a game demo installation froze in WinXP and I had to reboot, WinXP now has some pretty serious disk probs.
When I try and scan the WinXP partition for errors (which WinXP schedules to run when it starts) I get an error that 'RAW' drives are not supported and no error checking is done. (I'm guessing the 'RAW' drive is Windows trying to look at the the Linux partition)
Is there a Linux utility I can run on the Windows partition from Linux to fix the errors?
Many, many thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!
