linux can not boot in. linux system not found

hello everybody,
i have one problem here. my linux can not boot in.
i use the linux rescue from the linux CD but i still can not
go to my temporary linux system which situated in "/mnt/sysimage".
because there was nothing.

i have met this problem before but this time it seem to be different
cause the system is not link to the /mnt/sysimage.

the last time[step] that i do is:

1.cp the /mnt/sysimage/etc/lilo-conf to /etc.
2.cp the whole folder /mnt/sysimage/boot to /boot.
3.modify the lilo-conf file
for example:
map=/boot/map to map=/mnt/boot/sysimage/boot/map
4.after that type "lilo".
s-h2#lilo

i want to know is there any other way that i can link my linux system
to the temporary path?

thanks,
mch

instead of modifiing the lilo.conf, use the command:

chroot /mnt/sysimage /bin/bash

then run lilo.

i have to mention here that is when i get into the rescue mode, there was not such path "/mnt/sysimage".
the path that i can get to is /mnt.

this is because the linux system seem not link to the temporary path.

thanks,
mch
