Could you pls help me? I'm looking for a lightweight C++ IDE that would fit in 64 MB ram on a slackware 10 box. pleferably one without too many dependencies.
How about Vim or Emacs - they're small (compared to most IDEs), and with a little work can give you more functionality than an IDE which can fit into 64 MB of core.

I had installed on another computer one that was exactly what i need (working fine on 32 ram) but i
had to format the partition and i just can't remember its name.it was similar to rhide.any ideas? i've searched a lot but with no results.i'm not familiar with emacs. guess i should read some tutorials
Setedit is similar to rhide, maybe that's what you were using. It can be used as a front-end to gcc and mpg123, for that matter. It doesn't framework code for you though.
edit:
rhide is in the setedit package and on Linux it will play mp3s by itself if you're at the console.
