Linux authentication server, windows client

this is my question:
how to get windows to connect with a linux authenication server.
I want to create a linux server, where windows users can login to.
But a Administrator would have more rights then a guest account.
so the rights have to be set on the windows client too.

I Heard of PAM, but is this what i'm looking for?
becausse I thought PAM connects to a linux hsell or am I wrong?

I have not installed any linux OS yet (know how to work with it)

Hi godice!

It sounds like what you would like to setup is a Samba server on the Linux side, and have Windows clients log into it. While doing some quick searching, I found this link in the Samba online documentation:
