linux and WMA license
Hello, I have an interesting question. I have recently came across Microsoft WEB page and found out, that you need to pay a license fee if you use WMA decoder ($0.10 per copy) or encoder ($0.20 per copy) on non Windows systems, thus Linux. Plus there are annual fees.
More info can be found at Microsoft's WEB.
So my question is, how is it with software, that decodes WMA under linux (MPlayer)? Is it legal for home use? Didn't find anything about it. I'm just wondering if Microsoft is now tolerating it, but in future will demand money from the developers. As is the problem with MP3's now-days.
Thanx for replies,
Honza
