Limewire removing previous version error

I have mandrake linux 10.1 and I am trying to install limewire on it. I have wine so I was able to download the limewire.exe file for windows and install it on linux. It tried to automatically install the java plugin but failed. I manually installed it and it shows up as a plugin in my mozilla browser. I accidently removed the installation folder for limewire off of my computer that contained a unintall file. It won't let me reinstall without first uninstalling but it can't do that because all of the files have been deleted. There must be a hidden file somewhere telling limewire that it is already installed. I had originally installed it to /home/matt/programs/limewire.
Thanks for the help.
Matt
