whenever i try to install Limewire i'm getting an error message saying:

"No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. You must install a VM prior to
running this program.

I've installed Java. Someone please help me.

You need to put the java /bin directory in your PATH. Just installing it isn't enough. You can put something like the following in your .bashrc file

PATH=$PATH:/path/to/java/bin

And please learn to use the search button. This is one of the most commonly asked questions here.

And if there isn't a .bashrc, you can just create one with a text editor. Vid is right in that you need to run ls -a to see if it is there since all files starting with a . are "hidden"
