LimeWire

I have a question. I installed LimeWire and it installed it in /root. I tried a few things but the bottom line is if I want to run it I need to open up the terminal su as root and run it that way. What security risks are there if I run LimeWire that way?

Not a very good idea. As root just...

chmod -R yourusername LimeWire
chgrp -R users LimeWire

and move it to your /home/you dir. and you'll be able to run it as user.

Thank You. I wasn't sure if I moved it if that would cause any problems. It works great now. I never run anything from root anymore. If I need to access a root folder, for any reason, or install somehing I just open terminal, su as root and open konqueror or type the commands. But I really HATE the idea of running something from root. I wasn't sure if I even wanted to use LimeWire if that was the case. Glad it wasn´t. Thanks.
