Exclamation LibreOfficer Impress and Saving videos

i have got a bit of a problem, and i am pulling my hair out (what i have left). I have finnshed off a powerpoint press for our charity and it all looks lovly on my PC(unbuntu 12.04 - LibreOffice Impress3.5.3.2) and when i saved it as a ODF file and gave it to my manager to look over it and to make sure that all was well with it. (he is running MS PowerPoint 2007), he opened it ok but when he tried to run the slide show powerpoint said that "there are some pic's that have become corupted and can not be shown".

What it is tring to do is play the video's (MP4/AVI/MOV) we have put in, but powerpoint can not show the video's. when i looked back into the same file that is on the network Impress had removed the video's. when i put them back in i had to copy the file over to my home drive to add them in. then copy it back to the server. my manager tried opening the powerpoint and the vide's are missing again.

I saved the impress file as a PPTX copied that to the server and tried and got the problems about the file is corrupted. When i saved as a PPT i didn't get any errors but no video's. I have moved the vidoe's into the same directory as the PPT or the ODF and that dosen't make any diffrence

am i going mad ????? please can anyone help me.

I can't speak to compatibility between LO and PPT, how's this for a shot in the dark: Record it with RecordMyDesktop, then pass the video file to him. You can tell RecordMyDesktop to record the entire screen, a portion of the screen, or a specific window.

If I remember correctly, I think RecordMyDesktop records in ogg-vorbis format, but you can convert it with ffmpeg or mencoder. RecordMyDesktop should be in the Ubuntu repos.
