LibreOffice 5.1 OS- 18.3 Crash went the Doc.

I've upgraded to Cinnamon 18.3 and LibreOffice crashes on documents that I've included about 14 graphic images in. Total page size is about 40 with the last 10 pages being graphic inserts rather than a text page.

Other than that I like the 18.

Could you run it in the terminal, see what the error message is? It's probably just a lib missing or something like that.

I have to say that I like LibreOffice, but I do find that it crashes occasionally, especially when I have multiple documents open at the same time. I'm hoping that the most recent versions of LibreOffice will have sorted out this issue (I too am on Mint 18.3), and therefore am looking forward to using the more up-to-date version of LibreOffice that will come with Mint 19.

It might be worth your while however trying to install a more recent version of LibreOffice, perhaps directly from LibreOffice themselves. I would recommend however that you do this in a virtual machine or use e.g. TimeShift to make a system snapshot so that you can roll back if it doesn't work out. Or, alternatively, find a live Linux ISO that has a much more up-to-date copy of LibreOffice installed by default and see if your document works with that.

Fixed It

I upgraded to Libre Office version 6.

Fixed everything. Even the weather.

Thanks, fusionstate

Good to know. Especially its effect on the weather.

Out of interest, how did you upgrade LibreOffice?

If you want, you can mark the thread "Solved" (see "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread).

I'll mark the thread. As for the upgrade, I went to https://www.libreoffice.org/.

However, you'll have to manually install the version 6. This was my first time installing a .deb file and I can't find the youtube video that showed how to install the file. Perhaps it was on the LibreOffice download site. It works well, but then I haven't used it much yet.
