Libbonoboui on Slackware 9.1

Hey peeps,

Has anyone had any trouble compiling libbonoboui on Slackware 9.1? It's needed by a whole lot of other packages but it won't compile properly. During the 'make' stage I get a list of unexpected references to different gtk functions (usually indicating that gtk is not being properly linked against), however both gtk and gtk2 are on my system and are being passed to the linker properly.

Any ideas?

I knew someone would ask that...
They are all functions from gtk. I can't post them right now because I have other things compiling and I bodged it together to compile by removing a couple of the makefile targets, but now something else is getting the same errors. undefined references to gtk_font_dialog_window (or something like that) and a lot of similar funtions. With both gtk+1.2 and gtk+2 installed I can't understand why it's getting the error.
