Question lame error during ./configure mythtv

No PUN intended when I say I get a-

lame error when I attempt to ./configure mythtv. Here's the error:

MSfree:/opt/mythtv-svn/mythtv # ./configure
cat: /etc/ld.so.conf.d/*.conf: No such file or directory
cat: /etc/ld.so.conf.d/*.conf: No such file or directory
You must have the Lame MP3 encoding library installed to compile Myth.

Does this mean lame is installed. but the libraries aren't?

Lame is installed. (YAST says it's protected??)

Any help on this. I tried apt-get -U lame, but, it's says I'm at the most current version.

I am following these directions for SuSe x86_64 mythtv install.

http://www.homerengineeringcorp.net/...10-x86-64.html

Thanks!
