OK. This shows that a USB connection is being established, and that generally it's connecting using the ttyUSB1 and ttyUSB0 ports.
The next thing is to check what port/device is set in the KPilot configuration. Often it's set by default to /dev/pilot, which didn't work when I tried it. Try setting it instead to /dev/ttyUSB1 and ensuring that it's definitely set to connect via USB rather than serial. You could also try altering the speed (I find that 57600 works fine).
