kmail problem
Cannot start pop3 process error... any ideas what is wrong and how do i fix? I am running slackware 10.1 and everything is updated to current....

I have the exact same problem. I think (only a guess really) that the problem is with the updated kdebase or (even more likely) the kdepim package PV released last week. I'm going to roll back to the previous version to see if that helps. Will let you know.

if you rollback kdebase-3.4.0-2 & kdepim-3.4.0-2 to kdebase-3.4.0-1 & kdepim-3.4.0-1 then kmail will be back up and running.

The proper fix is to install the package: cyrus-sasl-2.1.20-i486-1.tgz once you upgrade the kdebase and kdepim packages. It was mentioned in the Changelog
apologies for earlier (not quite correct) advice.
