I installed Suse 10.2 with KDE desktop on my laptop and I have two issues I dont seem able to resolve:
I want to use Kontact, just to have everything on one place. I exported my outlook .pst to mozilla thunderbird on my old system and imported all my mail with no problems (files are on a external drive) to KMail. Now, when setting up my account the SMTP is working perfectly, but for some reason I just can't receive mail. I use a Yahoo mail business account and I used Outlook for mail reading and sending. For testing purposes I downloaded Thunderbird, configure it and that one works perfect. The config I did is pretty straightforward:
Account Name - Work
Login - mylogin (same one I use on the Thunderbird test)
PW - password
Host - pop.bizmail.yahoo.com
Port - 110
No Encryption
Again, worked great on Thunderbird but not on KMail. I know the follow up comment is "Why don't you just stick to Thunderbird if it works?". Two reasons, first it bugs me when I cannot make something work and the second one:
I got stuck importing my email to Thunderbird! On the import options I just get communicator 4.x, but I am not able to go fetch for my files on my external drive. I have looked for info on the web but nothing comes up, the method I used was to export first from Outlook to Thunderbird on my old W system and then I tried to set it up on my Linux machine. I was not able to do it on Thunderbird, just on KMail.
I am very new to the Linux world but I love it, and I love running into issues since you learn a lot from them. These are very basic questions to many of you, but believe me I just have no idea how to fix both issues.
Thanks for any help.
