keystroke logging to file?

Maybe it already exists, but is there a way to log all keystrokes to a file. The idea is that while typin commands to try and get something to work, I have a reference once I've gotten it to work correctly. I would be rebooting multiple times, so I'd likely have to either start the logging manually or by rc_script.

Thanks

Hi,

Take a look at script.

You do need to restart script everytime you (re)boot and need to stop the script shell before any reboot (ctrl-d).

Man script for details.

Hope this helps.

It looks like script does what I was looking for, outputing the commands to a file for later reference. I am documenting some guides, and as I screw up and try again, I can follow along to the certian point and then break from the "history" to steer clear of the error I made on the previous attempt.

thanks for your answers
