Word to the wise, if it ain't broke don't fix it. As easy as Fedora is to install, configure, and use, It is still an operating system in flux. If new users worry constantly about getting the latest and greatest, they will be, more often than not, chasing their tails. When the 'red ball exclamation' mark shows up it is NOT imperative that you immediately update

If you want to learn the system, and want to get any work done, I suggest you chill, check your logs, and calmly find out what is amiss. I believe RedHat wants us to suceed, so before you dump your system and cannot connect to the world any longer, surf their site, and see what they have to offer.
If you have had to install FC3 four times and something is crashing, it is an indication that something is wrong with;
a. Your installation media (I know, I know, the media checked fine 6 times, don't believe it!)
b. Your hardware.
c. Your technique
Linux is mature enough to tell us what is wrong, we just have to be savvy enough to find it.
