kdevelop question - getting started

I just installed redhat 9 and kdevelop. I am trying to compile a simple KDE normal application. I have not changed any of the code since the application builder made it. I am getting the following error:

-Wconversion -O2 -O0 -g3 -Wall -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -o helloworld2 -L/usr/X11R6/lib -L/usr/lib/qt-3.1/lib -L/usr/lib -R /usr/lib -R /usr/lib/qt-3.1/lib -R /usr/X11R6/lib helloworld2view.o helloworld2doc.o helloworld2.o main.o helloworld2doc.moc.o helloworld2.moc.o helloworld2view.moc.o -lqt-mt -lpng -lz -lm -lXext -lX11 -lSM -lICE -lpthread -lkdecore -lkdeui -lkio
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lart_lgpl_2
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/home/mike/helloworld2/helloworld2'
gmake[2]: *** [helloworld2] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/home/mike/helloworld2'
gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
gmake: *** [all] Error 2

I am assuming that it is some sort of path problem. I am running KDE release 3.1-10. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

-Newbie Mike
