i just installed slackware 10.1 on my main pc(had it on my laptop for a bit). so i install it without any huss or fuss and it workd pretty well. when i install kde (installpkg *.tgz) it also seems 2 go smothly. but when i startx i get a nice little error message that says something like "can not foind kdeinit, please cheack installation". so i uninstall kde and reinstall it. what do you know it still dosn't work. i've tryed that twice when i decide mabey it was a bad download. i redownload it and burn it(dual booting with windows x64) and still no luck. anyone have any ideas?

What does "locate kdeinit" return? It should give you the path to kdeinit. You should check the permissions of the file and all the directories in its path. They should be world readable and executable.

i don't get a damn thing. all i get is that error message. that is all.
