KDE Neon Plasma

I am using the latest version, trying to change my password (I am the only user / Administrator) but the System Settings->User, dos NOT let me do it, the apply button remains disabled

In all my searches I see User-Manager, but no such menu option on my setup

Any suggestions?
Thanks
Alex

In Konsole do sudo passwd <username> for any user's password except your own. Only passwd is required for changing your own password. Doing it for root user creates the ability to login as root that isn't *buntu (nee Neon) standard. These are standard password management invocations, and apply unless Neon has somehow broken password management. I haven't needed to change any passwords since I installed Neon.

I tried sudo password .... and the system response was sudo password : command not found

When I type password on it's own thinking it will give me some hints, it comes up with :

Command 'password' not found, did you mean:
command '1password' from snap 1password (8.9.4)
command 'assword' from deb assword (0.12.2-1)
See 'snap info <snapname>' for additional versions.

As extremely plainly stated by mrmazda, just type passwd. Not password. not sudo passwd. passwd.

Many thanks, my bad.... That works just fine, not the KDE wallet prompted me to type the password, but when I did, it rejected the new password and accepted the old one, what can I do?

Sorry, I am not yet very experienced in Linux

Try logging out, then back in, and see which password works. If you want it changed, try the passwd command again. If you can't get it to change, there's a bug at work. Are you using the Neon Testing Edition?
