kde + crashed application

I dont know if you also face the following..
When an application crashes then it cant be relaunched again.. Sometimes the application delays for a long time before starting and other times does not even start.
Have u got any good explanation about that?

I've found that if that happens it usually means that there is some instance of the application still running - usually I just do a ps -A -f | grep appname and kill -9 the process that usually is still active. Then I try to restart the app and this usually works perfectly.
