I run Fedora 16 with gnome 3. I have problems with crashes caused by unplugging the dsl cable. I had the brilliant idea, that the problem may be gnome related (probably not, but worth a try). I have installed kde, but have no internet connection.
What do kde users use to connect to the internet?? I mean, a gui based program would be nice, like network manager in gnome.
Networking stands loose from the DE. So, if you had connection on Gnome, you should have the same on KDE (or any other De for that matter).
The question remains: what does NOT get loaded in the KDE session that does get loaded in the Gnome session.
In KDE, try to ping google (173.194.78.94) and see if there's something comming back.
I bet you use a different set of tools/software in KDE than in Gnome, and these themselves are not yet (fully) configured...
