KDE 3.5.2 and transparant panel

Hi, I have posted this question before but maybe didn't explain it properly, may be it was in the wronf palce too. so here goes.

I've upgraded to kde3.5.2 from 3.4 that came with mandrive 2006, but now the options to make panels transparent has gone. I've serched the inetr net and only found this so far.

http://www.linuxfordummies.org/index.php?topic=523.0

It has a screen shot that is the same as my problem. I was hoping someone here my has the solution to this problem.

Thanks.

Now transparent feature does not work with all styles. It works fine on plastik wiht kde3.5.3 source build. Try a different style. Blue curve should work as well.

Hi,

My kicker bar is currently transparent, but thats because it was in kde 3.4, before i installed kde 3.5.2. I can alter the transparancy settings by editing the correct file, I forget wich of hand, but I have lost the options in kcontrol to be able to alter them in the gui.

I think you miss understood wht I ment, or I don't under stand what you menn.....

Thanks anyway, please let me know if you have any ideas.

Not sure about that one. Just to see you could create a new account user and login under that and see if the options you are looking for are there. If not then it is going to be maybe in /usr/share/apps/. Otherwise look under your home account ~/.kde/share
/config. Maybe you can compare files and see the differences and edit your own. As a note make a backup copy before editing.
