I posted this in the Mandrake forum (seeing as I'm using MDK9.2) without any luck, so I thought I'd ask you folks. I've been researching DCOPserver errors, but I'm not finding anything applicable to my system. I ran the
konstruct program to install KDE 3.2.2. Once I finally found the installation location and moved it to /usr/local where I wanted it, I tried to get it started. I followed the directions on
KDE's installation page, and I'm getting DCOPserver errors. I tried following the instructions KDE suggests
here, but I didn't have any luck. I created a new user account and tried from there, but it gave me the same error.
I know DCOPserver is working for 3.1, but not for 3.2. The most relevant error I can find is
library=dcopserver.la: No file names dcopserver.la found in paths. However,
find -name dcopserver.la can find it in /usr/local and in the KDE library path. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I feel like I've almost got this licked, after a week with fighting with dependencies and such.
