KDE 3.2 DCOPserver failure

I posted this in the Mandrake forum (seeing as I'm using MDK9.2) without any luck, so I thought I'd ask you folks. I've been researching DCOPserver errors, but I'm not finding anything applicable to my system. I ran the konstruct program to install KDE 3.2.2. Once I finally found the installation location and moved it to /usr/local where I wanted it, I tried to get it started. I followed the directions on KDE's installation page, and I'm getting DCOPserver errors. I tried following the instructions KDE suggests here, but I didn't have any luck. I created a new user account and tried from there, but it gave me the same error.

I know DCOPserver is working for 3.1, but not for 3.2. The most relevant error I can find is library=dcopserver.la: No file names dcopserver.la found in paths. However, find -name dcopserver.la can find it in /usr/local and in the KDE library path. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I feel like I've almost got this licked, after a week with fighting with dependencies and such.

So you moved the KDE directory AFTER you installed it...........no wonder
your having problems..........your system expects to find KDE in
/opt/kde ??
and you moved it to /usr/local..........you may need to compile KDE from source and specify where you want it installed...........IE
Code:
./configure --INSTALLDIR=/usr/local

No, it's fine.

I followed the directions, honest. This says I can do it so long as I provided a link back to the original installation location, which I did. I still get the same error, it can't load DCOPserver.
