I just installed KDE 3.2.1. When I start X, it goes through the KDE load process, then the splash disappears and I'm left with a grey screen and a mouse. I Ctrl+Alt+Backspace'd to find a whole string of error messages:
Quote:
Could not dlopen library kcminit.la: /opt/kde/lib/libkdeinit_kcminit.so: undefined symbol: _ZNK5KUser9loginNameEv
kcminit: relocation error: /opt/kde/lib/libkdeinit_kcminit.so: undefined symbol: _ZNK8KService8propertyERK7QStringN8QVariant4TypeE
...
lots more of the same sort of thing for ksmserver.la, kwin.la, etc, etc...
...
DCOP aborting call from 'anonymous-1673' to 'kdesktop'
ERROR: Communication problem with kdesktop, it probably crashed.
...
some more of the 'Could not dlopen library' stuff
...
ksmserver: Fatal IO error: client killed

I can't get into KDE whatsoever, and I'm posting this via lynx (I had to type that all up by switching terminals :/).
I'm on Slackware 9.1, XFree86 4.3.0, Kernel 2.4.22.
Thanks.
