KAudiocreator is multiplying selected tracks and then shutting down on its own
I'm using Slackware-Current with KDE-3.4.1. (This problem has been around since I started using KDE-3.2)
When I start KAudiocreator, the program opens and reads the disc, retrieves the CDDB information, lists and selects all tracks on the disk, then adds identical set of tracks over and over. When it has multiplied the number of tracks by about 5 then it shuts down. It does begin to rip the tracks, but shows (for example) 1,active 10, queued: 1, active 20, queued: 1, active 30, queued...
until it shuts down.
I have tried every ripper program that I can find, but can't get any of them to work. Grip, xmcd, cdrbq, asunder, simplecdr...
I was under the impression that amaroK could rip, but I have not been able to figure out how.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
ps
I would like to avoid any command line programs as my typing is atrocious and slow.
