Cool Kali-rolling

Kali-rolling a the new disto - questions: Since this is a fairly new release please everyone with issues post them below so we can keep our thoughts together.

Here is what I am looking at:

I installed K/R on a 2010 13" macbook book. (bye-bye OSx)

I am having issues with aircrack-ng suite, wireshark, and such. When installing it, it wants Fireware b43/ucode_29.fw. I downloaded the files but it won't see them on install have had to bypass this step. Didn't seem to matter once installed. The wifi worked just fine (or so the magical box says so). I have seen that people are having problems with apples wireless cards at times. I can get mine to read the internet through my wifi access and I am able to put it into monitor mode. (yet again or so the magic box says so).

I don't seem to be able to capture any packets or #data in airodump-ng. I should be writing into the log file that I specify some data packets, but right now with no avail.

second wire shark is another interesting one... pop it open as root it says "HEY WE ARE SHUTTING SOME THINGS DOWN BECAUSE YOU ARE ROOT", well fine a quick adduser and pass log out log in, message goes away... until you want to start working with it and it goes "HEY DUMMY YOU DON'T HAVE PERMISSIONS FOR THAT"... Well make up your mind.

Any thoughts all.

Hmm, not such a good idea. Better to open separate threads for each individual issue.

Same goes for your questions: You are asking many questions, but you do not give any detailed information for any of them that would help people to help you. E.g. for your wireshark issue I doubt that the messages you posted are the ones that the software gave you. But maybe your problem can be solved with the instructions given here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/74059...oot-privileges
These are Ubuntu instructions but they should work for Debian / Kali as well.

Generally speaking your issues don't seem to be Kali specific, so you might also want to consider changing your thread title...

Sorry for criticizing your post so much, but you will get better help faster if you put a little more effort into asking your question(s)... Ask one question at a time, each in one individual thread, and post exact error messages.

did you by chance not read the kali docs section on troubleshooting ???
this is "issue" is EXPLICITLY stated

ubuntu and debain "guides" are mostly useless for kali

kali is SO custom use that you have to use the Kali docs
then YOU the user also have to PORT the individual tools own docs FOR USE ON KALI

and there is ONLY ONE USER in kail
the ROOT account

there is NO normal user
no need to use su or sudo because YOU ARE ALWAYS ROOT
