Not sure if it's the right section, I'm new to this forum.
I didn't use my laptop which has Kali desktop encrypted on it long time ago and now that i tried to log in I forgot my encryption password, I tried many times and many passwords that I might have made but none of it works. I have data that I cannot afford to lose on it so please if you know any solution to reset the password tell me

What kind of encryption did you use?? Did you encrypt the whole disk, or just the boot volume? If you used LUKS...then you're out of luck without the password.

Yea I encrypted it with LUKS, I've read the threads you mentioned and I feel bad for newbies, we shall actually help them you know...
I actually found a way to brute force it, I'll try to make a list of passwords that I might use and see.

I didn't mention ANY threads, so no idea what you're talking about. And you haven't answered any of the questions asked of you, and if you don't provide details there's nothing anyone can help with. If you claim to have found a solution, why don't you post it??

The only way I found is brute forcing it with a tool called bruteforce-luks, you should run it from Kali live USB or cd/DVD. first you install it :
sudo apt install bruteforce-luks
Usage :
Usage: bruteforce-luks [options] <path to LUKS volume>
Use 'bruteforce-luks --help' for more options
Told you I'm new, I didn't notice that the part that says "using Kali ?" Is not a comment. Sorry.
Unless you can narrow down the range of possible passwords and variations enormously you are unlikely to break into LUKS.
However, regardless of how this turns out, your next step needs to be working out a daily backup routine even if it is just good old rsync to an alternating pair of removable hard drives.
