K3B has no fonts, just squares

Hi,

I'm using debian sid (unstable) with gnome 2.6, I installed K3B (I have at least an external burner for this laptop

), but whenI launch it I can only see squares instead of letters. The only thing I can read is the italic text (that appeares correctly) in the thip of the day.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Open a terminal window and type gnome-font-properties as root.

You should get some error messages connected to that problem.
Probably PANGO and GTK2 problems - if so, downgrade to some other versions or reinstall them.

I have no hope that you'll answer that after all these years

But if anyone had the same problem and this resolution worked, feedback is much appreciated!

I have no idea if this works but, if you are using Gnome as your window manager, I have heard of this type of problem before and have been told that certain KDE 'native' applications can struggle with fonts in Gnome.

Try using KDE and see what happens.
