Question K3B has no fonts, just squares

Hi,

I'm using debian sid (unstable) with gnome 2.6, I installed K3B (I have at least an external burner for this laptop ), but whenI launch it I can only see squares instead of letters. The only thing I can read is the italic text (that appeares correctly) in the thip of the day.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi!

Open a terminal window and type gnome-font-properties as root.

You should get some error messages connected to that problem.
Probably PANGO and GTK2 problems - if so, downgrade to some other versions or reinstall them.

I have no hope that you'll answer that after all these years
But if anyone had the same problem and this resolution worked, feedback is much appreciated!

I have no idea if this works but, if you are using Gnome as your window manager, I have heard of this type of problem before and have been told that certain KDE 'native' applications can struggle with fonts in Gnome.

Try using KDE and see what happens.

...oh, and do let us know!
