Ok I have tried and tried and tried to get juk to work on my computer. I want a mp3 player that has some sort of media library. Well when i try to compile it I get an error saying I dont have Gstreamer and I need to get it. Well I know for a fact I have it and I have installed it again just to make sure. Well anyway I get juk to install fine BUT the problem is that when I open it up and try to play nothing happens. No error...nothing. Any advice would be great!!!
I didn't have that problem - I use a French mirror for updates (set the first time when you run update via the control centre -> software management -> updates tool). I'm not sure where that info is set (probably somewhere in /etc) but try another mirror (french one may be best!). The juk package DOES exist!
Thats the thing thats getting me. I have installed the GStreamer-devel package. But everytime i try and install juk it does work. I did get juk installed but it wont play any mp3s. I dont know what to do...
I've just tried juk again using all combinations - tells me its already installed (which it is as I had already got it). I don't know why you'd not be able to get it :/
I tried using JuK even after you said you tried it and still got the same thing. I dont get it. I guess i can try some different mirrors and mess around with that. Because I switched it to the ftp.lip6 one that you said an when I type in urpmi kdemultimedia nothing different happens, and JuK isnt listed. So brownb2, you are using mandrake linux 10 cooker and using that ftp.lip6...., the only one that starts like that, and thats how you got it? I just dont get...I have done all of this and it didnt work...
I'm not using the cooker but the community version, with all of the latest updates installed (excpt for those that won't). I don't know if thats any different?
