are the joystick drivers from atrey compiled into 2.4 kernels?

Hi,
I want to interface joystick to kernel 2.4.18-26.7.x, RH 7.3. While compiling the joystick-1.2.15.tar.gz, i am facing hell of compilation errors. A few lines are like this...

I have changed the /usr/src/linux to /usr/src/linux-2.4. It's like this in my machine. It's telling error in modversions.h. where is the problem? have anyone installed successfully? I have posted regarding this many times, but i am not getting any suggestions....
