JBuilder+NFS & Can't navigate directories in Open dialogs
This may be more appropriate for the networking forum but here goes...
Have a new workstation running RedHat 9.
I'm developing some Java apps on it.
My HOME is nfs'd from an SGI Challenge running the latest IRIX version.
I have some problems ( mostly with JBuilder9 PE ).
The problems have to do with opening files/projects etc.
When I try to open a file or project, the Open dialog comes up
but I can't get beyond my home directory ( /users/<myhome> ) in the GUI.
In order to open something I have to actually enter the fully qualified path
in the "[File/Project] name:" area.
I surveyed the other users who are in the server under "/users" and there
are other accounts which have the same problem but many don't and
can be navigated correctly from the GUI.
AFAIK there doesn't seem to be any pattern as to who can and cannot
operate normally.
Anybody have any clues why this might be?
It doesn't seem to be permissions as once the file/project is open, reading,
writing, etc proceeds normally.
I'm not using some exotic shell ( strictly /bin/bash )
Disabling my local shell setup ( .bash[_profile/rc ) doesn't seem to make a
difference ( diable/logout/login -> same result )
