i have redhat 8 and i think version 1.01 of mozilla, how do i get java to work on it. i downloaded this file
j2re-1_4_1_01-linux-i586-rpm.bin
and ran it to get this file
j2re-1_4_1_01-fcs-linux-i586.rpm
and rpmed that and java still doesnt' work, what else is evolved?
rom installing the first one you *should* have something like /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.0/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji140.so you now need to link this file to your mozilla plugins dircetory, e.g. /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
AWESOME, Chris, thanks so much for that. My directory was a little different, because I got the newest Java plugin, and it stuck it in /usr/java/...but it worked either way, thanks man.
I'm having the same problem, but I can't seem to find out where to make the link to. In other words, I can't find the plug in directory to make thie link to Mozilla in redhat 8.0.
I've tried linking it to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
But I keep getting the message: No such file or directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
