Java installed, but no browser is detecting it
Hello. I am very new to Linux, and I got myself Fedora 15(Gnome shell), updated to the latest kernel.
Here is my problem. I have Java installed, the newest version, but non of the browsers(Opera, GChrome, M. FF) I have know it is there and installed on my machine -- as in, it's not in their plugins section.
So, what's going on? Why is it like that?

Setting up the new java like : 1) su
2)
/usr/sbin/alternatives --install /usr/bin/java java /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_26/bin/java 2
3) /usr/sbin/alternatives --config java
.. And select the "sun jdk6".
The plugin :
cd /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/ ( Or cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/.)
# ln -s /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_24/jre/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so
( For "i386" # ln -s /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_24/jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so ).
