j2sdk install issues on Redhat 9

Althought it seems to be a global issue with the bin and rpm installs. The only advice I have seen given is keep trying. To me keep trying isn't really a helpful answer.

Usually I either download via browser to my Win and then upload via ftp, othertimes I use lynx or wget on the machine itself.

After the download or upload

$ wget java.sun.com/webapps/download/Redirect/74922019/5847479377282807053505607246086069333228071972022813600060192859339008063305596058473206-3866/j2sdk-1_4_2_01-linux-i586.bin

$ mv j2sdk-1_4_2_01-linux-i586.bin\?ActionId\=verify\&TicketId\=C1hW8kyNU1c%3D\&TicketServerUrl\=UMdnxpfbimnVhsPzHcxQH1vcfpnak cdixIDR8grWSV9U3HLSgqDMYN%2BV1osLy1dXQQ%3D%3D\&GroupName\=5PoE j2sdk-1_4_2_01-linux-i586.bin

$ chmod a+x j2sdk-1_4_2_01-linux-i586.bin

$ ./j2sdk-1_4_2_01-linux-i586.bin

Here is what I have gotten about 21 times so far

Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Binary Code License Agreement

for the

JAVATM 2 SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT KIT (J2SDK), STANDARD EDITION, VERSION 1.4.2_X
.....

Do you agree to the above license terms? [yes or no]
yes

The download file appears to be corrupted. Please refer
to the Troubleshooting section of the Installation
Instructions on the download page for more information.
Please do not attempt to install this archive file.

Is there anything else I can do, anything else I can try. 21 times of getting a file that is corrupted, is kinda odd to me. Anything I can check. The file sizes are fine. Any help would be appreaciated.

Try searching for a mirror, it is possible that the server's copy is corrupted if it is such a frequent occurence. A mirror (or a slightly older release) might be intact.

I'll try the mirror or something, Sun has already done away with their FTP site.

Going Crazy with Java Corruption

Hey anyone, someone,
I am at my wits end. I am trying to install Java on RH Linux 8.0 so I can install Progress Database. I have downloaded many different .bins and .rpms from the sun site and tried them all. None work. I always get a file corrupted error. These are not small downloads.... 26mbs and its such a pain to have to download again and again with the same results.

I followed all instructions on loads of other posts with no positive results. I get as far as the "accept license" page (which I feel like throwing at someone) and then it justs says the file is corrupted and to check out the troubleshooting on the download homepage. However, unsurprisingly this does not exist!

In order to work with Progress I have to install version 1.3 as 1.4 is not yet supported by Progress. I have tried j2re- 1_3_1_11-linux-1586.rpm.bin and j2sdk- 1_3_1_11-linux-1586.rpm.bin

Has anyone any advice or help they can offer.
Please dont suggest to download again!
