iTunes m4p and Xmms

Currently on my windows partition I have tons of legally purchased iTunes. How can I play these songs from linux? The information I have read all involves long and drawn out strategies, I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a better solution?

The 'FairPlay' that comes with iTunes downloaded songs permit uploading to as many iPods as you want and also burn your songs to as many cds as you want. I guess (iTunes Music Store is not available at my country) that it eliminate the DRM so you can copy the songs in your local hard drive.

However if you chose to burn your collection as audio cds it will be quite tedious to rewrite all the song names, musician, album, etc.

You may try Amarok, which support aac/mp4 audio. It also has the ability to upload/download songs from an iPod, and it will be able to store your iTunes Music Store songs on your hd (if the DRM permit it).

Re: Crossover

I did this: Click File->Add Folder To Library. Of course the folder I added had all my mp3's/m4p's . . .

Using the add Folder to library option I was able to successfully import my music. Now the new problem is that when I play a file from within iTunes I hear no music, any clues for this one?/

Take a look at this FAQ from Codeweavers site - it talks about changing the iTunes output type to waveOut:
