Question is there an x battery status applet for woody with acpi?!

Since this is my first post let me introduce myself...
<hi there!>
Allright, i'm running an 3.0r2 Deb on my laptop with an 2.6.3 kern.
All i need to be happy would be an X application that keeps track of my battery status.
(acpi support already installed and it is running fine)
My problem seems to be that all those great battery-apps are made for:
a) APM support and libc 2.2.X
b) ACPI support and libc >= 2.3.X
My laptop bios doesn't support APM so i have to use acpi. So far so good, but woody uses libc-2.2x and i'm kinda'fraid to upgrade my system to testing / unstable.
If anybody knows of a program which may help me in that case or if anyboby is more familiar with debian and could be so kind to explain me how to upgrade woody to testing / unstable.

With best regards,
