is RTPlib rtp stack still being used?

Hi experts,
I was googling for RTP library then found RTPlib rtp stack from the following url: http://www1.bell-labs.com/project/RTPlib/
They have very good documentation too. I think it is implemented in C. I would like to know if this stack is still being used or deprecated ?
I tried to compile the test code at http://www-out.bell-labs.com/project.../rtp_test.html but it seems APIs used in this test code is deprecated and not able to compile this code.
In the source code, they have given file example2.c as a RTP packet receiver.
I tried to make use of this example code and wrote code to read the RTP packets from a helix server (which is streaming MP3) running on other computer in the same LAN but it is not working. select() function always returning 0 (means RTP and RTCP sockets never have any data to read). I am really stuck at this point.
if someone have used this library before or have any idea then please help me.Thanks in advance.
