ioctl

Hi,
I'm profiling a filesystem... When I run the profiler with
a simple copy or a write to a file. the IOCTL get call.

does anybody know when and why the ioctl will be called?
Because I think that ioctl is not called by cp nor by a write.

and to check this problem I'm trying to run a debugger to the
filesystem and follow the execution. does anybody know how
to how to setup a debugger correctly to follow filesystem calls?

thank you.
