Installing the Gcc 3.4.3 on Linux


Hi all
I have downloaded the latest version of gcc-3.4.3.
I have installed it
Now i want to develop a c++ project using Kdevelop...

I want to know will kdevelop automatically use the latest G++ compiler or do i have to make any changes settings??

please help??

It should use the latest, type g++ -v, If the last line is your new version then your fine. If not then you will have to alter the symlinks in /usr/bin to point to your new version.

KDevelop will simply issue the g++ command. You can specify whatever command you want by using the Project->ProjectOptions menu. If you installed gcc 3.4.3 inthe norma, default way, then KDevelop should use it.

i am unable to find out the option from project->options
from where can i specify the path in Kdevelop

From the menu bar, choose: Project->Project_Options
Then, in the dialog box select Configure Options.
Then, in the tabbed box choose: C++

when I open a c project, I get the following error "Could not create language plugin for C", therefore project options is not enabled.

What is the other way to modify project settings?

I'm using KDE-Cygwin.
