Angry installing java runtime environment

Help! When I tried to install Star Office on Mandrake 8, I was told I didn't have Java runtime installed. I downloaded this and got a .bin file on my desktop. How do I install this to my system? All help gratefully received.

Instructions on how to install java are on my guide.
you will have to go back and point to the java directory within star office though since there was no java install when you installed star office.

just curious - why are you not using openoffice.org?

btw, the link to the guide is in my sig below

You need to give the .bin file permission to execute. After that just click on it and follow the instructions.
