installing GNOME?

After I upgraded from RH 7 to RH 7.2 I noticed that some sort of XServer was installed. I type startx and got a graphical version of the console. I was wondering how I would install an full blown GUI like GNOME or KDE? Which is better for gaming, web surfing, and word prcessing? or does it make a difference?

I have these 'XFree' RPMs installed

XFree86-libs-4.1.0-15
XFree86-SVGA-3.3.6-42
XFree86-xfs-4.1.0-15
XFree86-compat-modules-3.3.6-42
XFree86-4.1.0-15

Thanks in advance.

all you need is every GNOME and KDE rpms to be installed, look for them on your installation cdrom, and install every package that relates to gnome and kde if you want to. For ximian gnome
$ su

$ lynx -source http://go-gnome.com/ | sh
but I know that the installation is GUI driven, I am not sure if it works in console, give it a shot.
For manual installation http://www.ximian.com/download/instr...ibution=manual
