installing cinelerra help please

I'll start off by saying that im a super noob, so this question probably applies to any install, but here goes... I download a package for cinelerra and i double click on it. it doesn't seem to work, so i use the yum install in the terminal and it does some things for a minute or so and says no match for argument, nothing to do. I assume its done doing whatever it was supposed to be doing. from there I have no clue. i can find some unpacked (what appear to be) plugins, and founs, but no executable thing.

i look around the site for help, but it basically says "do it, and if it doesn't work use the source code to do it". any help you could give would be wonderful. thanks
