Exclamation Installed Ubuntu 8.04 now my Windows Vista is gone...Wtf?

Why wont my windows Vista load now that I installed Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy)?
It says it was looking for Hardware when I selected the Windows Vista OS from the OS selection page when I startup my computer.

Can anybody PLEASE help me?

Vista is a virus!!!!

Just kidding ya.

Maybe you could boot Vista in repair mode (with the Vista cd) and see if it finds the original install and can then repair it.

It's a good sign that Vista shows up as a selection from the boot manager, then means it as least knows that Vista is there. At least part of it.

Do you recall what options you selected for installing the bootloader?

Boot up into Linux, open a terminal, and open /boot/grub/menu.lst. Post the contents here.

To get the Windows bootloader back, boot from the Windows install CD (rescue mode) and run "fixmbr". (I'm assuming Vista is similar to Win2k, Xp, etc.)

If you cant get Windows to work with GRUB, the other option is to put GRUB on a floppy.

The link below--"booting..." might help, but has not been updated for Vista (nor will it be, since I will never buy or use any MS product unless required by my employer)

I found out the problem. I just clicked the wrong log-in.
I thought they we're both the same considering they both had the same title.
