install mplayerplug-in without mozilla 1.4?

I want to install the mplayer embedded plug-in for mozilla. As I am using mozilla 1.7, it seems somewhat pointless to want to install mozilla 1.4, as the mplayer RPM wants me to do. is there any way i can install the mplayer plug-in on mozilla 1.7 and not have to install mozilla 1.4?

i am using fedora core 1.

thanks
