image preview doesn't work in kde

I am using KDE (3.3.2) and can't see any previews of images or other media even when I turn them on in the view menu. I've always used a custom built build of kde since 3.3 and this problem has always occured. I only build kdelibs, kdebase, kdenetwork, and kdeartwork. Is there any other kde package I need to install or any dependencies that I need before building in order to view images? Thanks for any help.

Are the files below the maximum size? ( Setting->Configure Konqueror...->Previews & Meta-Data ).

Yes, they're well below 1.0 Mb.

Try installing kdegraphics, as this is probably whats missing. Konq is probably depedant on a kpart of something else to generate the previews.

O.K., I've got things working by deleteing ~.kde and letting it get recreated.
