I want to draw new gemstone facet-cut formats...

I wants to draw the new gemstone facet formats I have in mind, to make a huge mark in the gemstone industry, and in a new "liquid electricity engines" industry... I needs a software that will modify my new geometric facets-drawings ever so slightly, like how softwares modify drawings for the new "fractal art", but with accurate records of angle changes and predict various light-output stats... What's out there that might do this?..

Does "Maya" work in Linux?.. I'm wondering if "Maya" could be modified to predict output light properties..?

Yes, Maya runs under all of the major operating systems.

If your requirement is to do ray tracing from the models, you could also consider using Blender for the modelling (I understand it can make use of YafaRay for the ray tracing).
