I messed up RPM

Hello,

I was trying to cut some of the junk that I dont want from Mandrake 7 in the RPM application, and I accidently messed up something because RPM wont open anymore. A message comes up that says, "Couldn't launch rpmdrake."

Please help me reinstall this program.

Thanks,

Rhett Dewey

to get the latest rpmdrake for your distro and platform, open up you XTerm after you downloaded, find using mc or cd the package you downloaded and run as root(use su, enter password for root account)
rpm -ihv package-blah.blah.rpm
it will install the rpmdrake, if there are any dependency thrown get the deps on that site and do the same for every package you got.

ok i would use your mandrake install cd. Look in it for the rpmdrake rpm. When you find it get into the command line then use cd /mnt/cdrom or what ever directory your cd mounts to. From there use cd to go to the directory with the rpmdrake rpm. When you find it do this
rpm -i RPMDRAKESNAME.rpm

that should fix it. If that doesn't work you could install it from source I guess
